Hear the words “Lighthouse Point” and local folks’ minds will generally go to the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, located in Hillsboro Beach. Well, Lighthouse Point is very much its own city in Broward County that is absolutely loaded with charm and incredible proximity to so many South Florida hotspots. The city is generally bordered by Deerfield Beach to the north, the Intracoastal Waterway and Hillsboro Beach to the east and Pompano Beach to the south. For road reference points, US-1/Federal Highway borders its western edge, Southeast 15th Street to the north and NE 24th Street to the South.
Its location is primo for accessing the broader region, with Copans Road, Sample Road and Southeast 10th Street providing east-west straight shots to I-95. From its confines you can be to Boca Raton within 10 minutes and Downtown Fort Lauderdale within 20 minutes. But, as you’ll soon find out, there is oh-so-much to keep you dazzled without having to leave Lighthouse Point.

Local Lifestyle
Home to approximately 10,000 residents, Lighthouse Point has parks, charming restaurants and a hopping yacht club as its daily glue. Frank McDonough Park is tucked on Northeast 27th Avenue and includes a world-class tennis center with nine clay courts, two racquetball courts and a number of sports fields. There’s a pro shop on-site for refining your skills, too. Other parks include Dan Witt Park – which has a stellar covered playground for kiddos – and the super-quaint Staton Park, right on the edge of the Intracoastal Waterway with benches overlooking the water.
Lighthouse Point Yacht Club is a members-only spot that’s a regional destination for big-time weddings, events and more. It has its own marina, fitness facility, tennis courts and dining spots. For a more relaxed dine, The Nauti Dawg Marina Café is located within Lighthouse Point and is about as laid-back as it gets. From the ultra-lux to ultra-chill, you have options.
Dining, Entertainment, Shopping
Lighthouse Point has a handful of entertainment, shopping and dining options within town and so many additional selections within minutes.
At the southeast corner of Lighthouse Point – at the intersection of US-1 / Federal Highway and Northeast 24th Street – is the Shoppes at Beacon Light, which include a Publix, Sicilian Oven and UPS Store.
For fitness lovers, Lighthouse Point Gym is locally owned and open 24 hours a day. It includes an extensive stock of free weights, machines and cardio equipment to have you beach body-ready year-round.
For a movie night, AMC Theaters is located adjacent to Lighthouse Point in Pompano Beach at the northeast corner of US-1 / Federal Highway and Copans Road. Located within Pompano Pointe Shopping Center, the complex also has a Whole Foods, Home Goods and Alta Beauty.
Things to Do
A tour of the neighboring Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is a must to acquainted to the neighborhood. Doused in black and white and surrounded by palm trees, it’s about as quintessentially South Florida as it gets. Tours are available monthly with local nonprofit Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society. In addition to your own boating endeavors, Lighthouse Point is home to a number of popular fishing and yacht charter companies including O-Sea-D Sportfishing, Fish City Drift Fishing and Legacy Yacht Rentals.
And, of course, the Lighthouse Point lifestyle is incomplete without mentioning the ocean. The Bohemian Deerfield Beach and quickly booming Pompano Beach – each with their own fishing pier – are accessible within 10 minutes.
